The Survival Podcast Episode-531- Life On Your Own Terms
10-14-10
Preparing you for when times get tough, or even if they don’t.
The reality though is if you don’t get this right, your life will never be what you really want it to be.  Prepping is about living life on your terms, your way, based on your choices even when bad things happen and the unprepared have to
compromise that.   Doing so take a strength and fortitude that all people have but most have burried, it takes three phrases we learned before we were five year of age that we have forgotten and it takes a knowledge of what we really want.
Connecting with these things is quite often uncomfortable but it is also extremely empowering.  My question for you today if we can’t live a life on our own terms during relatively good times, what chance do we have if the shit ever
really hits the fan?

Inside the Government’s Facebook Spy Operation
10-13-10
Federal agents are infiltrating social networks via sneaky friend requests and monitoring them via a special command center, according to documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Who cares? Well, prospective citizens, for one.
Also via EFF’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, the civil liberties group obtained slides showing how the Department of Homeland Security operates its “Social Networking Monitoring Center,”  particularly during Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration. As the EFF notes, it’s worrisome to see the government monitoring informational sites like NPR, BlackPlanet and DailyKos.

What is In the Flu Vaccine that Can Cause Infertility?
10-15-10
GlaxoSmithKline’s Fluarix swine flu vaccine, among others, contains Polysorbate 80, also known as Tween 80.
A study done in Slovakia on female rats found that when newborn rats were injected with the substance within a week of birth, they developed damage to the vagina and uterine lining, hormonal changes, ovarian deformities and infertility.

The package insert for Fluarix mentions that the manufacturer cannot guarantee your fertility will be unharmed. Further, if your fertility is compromised, recently passed laws protecting vaccine makers will prevent you from holding GlaxoSmithKline responsible.

Revealed: how seed market is controlled by Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, Dow & DuPont
10-07-10
Since the mid-1990s just five biotech giants – Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, Dow and DuPont – have bought up more than 200 other companies between them to dominate our access to seeds.
A patent gives a company exclusive rights to sell and develop a new invention. In the case of patents on plants and genes it grants them temporary monopolies and bans farmers from saving seeds, forcing them to buy new seeds from the company each year or pay a license to use patented seeds they have saved.

One third of Britons don’t have enough savings to survive just FIVE DAYS out of work
10-13-10
Nearly a third of Britons do not have enough savings to last them for just five days if they were unable to work, a survey has suggested.
Three out of 10 people have less than £249 set aside to see them through an emergency, a third of whom have no savings at all, according to high street bank HSBC.
The group said the sum was equivalent to just five days’ average take-home pay, well down on the three months’ salary that financial advisers suggest people have set aside as a safety net.
